Preliminary Knowledge:
International Public Law.
Objective:
Promote the acquisition of basic knowledge of doing business with their foreign counterparts. Discuss characteristics of the natural and legal persons, basic aspects of the international trade and freight transportation, and forms of settlement in international trade. Give a brief insight into conflict of laws.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
The student shall prepare an international commercial contract (in pairs with another student), submit one case or description of a problem situation. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.
Assessment Criteria:
Independent work assignments – 25%; end-of-course written test – 25%; knowledge is checked in an oral examination – 50%.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:On completion of the study course, students will be able to: 1. Explain the most important concepts of the International Private Law. 2. Describe the key institutes of the International Private Law. 3. Compare International Private and Public Law. 4. Explain the legal actions to be carried out by a lawyer in a particular case.
Skills:On completion of the study course, students will be able to: 1. Sum up the most essential legal information. 2. Analyse a practical case. 3. Use the terminology of the International Private Law. 4. Present and defend their point of view on a specific issue.
Competencies:On completion of the study course, students will be able to: 1. Use the acquired knowledge in practice. 2. Interpret legal norms. 3. Logically formulate their opinion about the case in discussion. 4. Judge the particular legal case.
