Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Legal Theory, International Law, Politics and Law.
Objective:
To provide an opportunity to be acquainted with the formation of the processes of globalisation, the development of the phenomenon of globalisation in the legal, political and also cultural dimensions. The course provides information on the background of globalisation, analyses the factors determining the development thereof, manifestations and consequences of globalisation in various spheres of functioning of society, paying special attention to the processes of globalisation of law and state transformation. Students will be introduced to various theories of globalisation by analysing the original works of influential theorists, who will help to develop a critical-analytical approach, allowing analysis of the discourse insights on globalisation and the processes of the modern world.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
A report: 10 pages, typed text, font size 12; pictures, attachments and other materials can improve the grade. The report can be prepared as a collaborative project (maximum of 3 people, minimum volume of 25 pages). The report can be replaced by a presentation (last class) on the selected topic that has been agreed with the lecturer (10 – 15 slides).
Assessment Criteria:
According to RSU Academic Regulations I. Participation in seminars – 20%; Report – 40%; Examination – 40%.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:On completion of the study course, students are aware of the changes created by the process of globalisation, especially in the field of law.
Skills:On completion of the study course, students assess the changes caused as a result of the globalisation processes, causes and consequences thereof, especially in the field of law.
Competencies:On completion of the study course, students analyse current issues in law and practice, integrating the global context into their studies and research.
