Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Basic knowledge in criminal law and criminal procedure, the common aspects of investigation work and the basics of investigation planning is required.
Objective:
To provide an opportunity of improving one's knowledge about the specifics of investigating criminal offences against person. Common and distinctive aspects. Analysis and summarisation of case law. Difference in proving criminal offences against person compared to other offences prescribed in the Criminal Law. To improve the understanding of differences in investigations related to various types of threats, where the common aspect is damage to a person. Through independent tasks, to improve the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in the process of performing practical tasks. Tasks: to identify the investigation specifics related to criminal offences against person. To gain in-depth knowledge of criminal offences against person, the subject of proof. In-depth study of the specifics of proving constituent elements of criminal offences against person in comparison with other offences prescribed in the Criminal Law and promotion of students' ability to independently analyse and apply the norms of the Criminal Procedure Law and Criminal Law in investigating criminal offences against person, separating them from similar constituent elements of criminal offences.

Report, written assignments, analysis of literature, collection of information on the Internet and from study aids, solving of tasks, situation analysis.
Assessment Criteria:
Lecture and seminar attendance, successfully passed tests, test works, attended practical classes and a written report.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:About the essence and content of investigating offences against person prescribed in the Criminal Law. About the concept and subject of the said group threat object. Overall characterisation of investigative activities in the investigation of criminal offences against person. Obtained knowledge on the specifics of proving constituent elements of criminal offences against person in comparison with other offences prescribed in the Criminal Law and the ability to independently analyse and apply the norms of the Criminal Procedure Law and Criminal Law in investigating criminal offences against person, separating them from similar constituent elements of criminal offences.
Skills:Knowledge on the application of norms of the Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law has been obtained. Experience and in-depth knowledge of the determination and analysis of the constituent elements of a criminal offence. Ability to apply theoretical knowledge in the investigation of criminal offences against person, taking all possible measures in the organisation of the investigation.
Competencies:To apply the obtained knowledge in identifying the fact of a criminal offence. To initiate criminal proceedings and complete the pre-trial investigation. To conduct investigation using the criminal procedure norms according to the constituent elements of the criminal offence. To classify criminal offences. To evaluate situations in connection with the investigation of criminal offences against person. To organise work in the field of investigation independently, using the acquired knowledge and skills.
