Objective: | To provide students with the opportunity to acquire the most up-to-date knowledge and develop skills and competences in the application of legal principles and norms, apply legal methods, develop skills required by a lawyer in legal analysis and solve cases. | ||||||||

Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | There are three independent works for students planned within the framework of the course, two of which are given in the form of a legal case, which must be solved, and one must be able to defend their views on the solution. The third independent work is determined by the leading lecturer of the study course. Deadlines for submission of independent work are specified by the leading lecturer of the study course at the first meeting, determining the schedule for the submission of works, the work is considered successful if the student has received at least 4 (almost satisfactory) points. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | The assessment shall be as follows: • Independent work assessment shall constitute 60%; • Final exam – 40%. | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | After completing this study course, students are able to demonstrate extended legal knowledge and understanding of the specifics of the application process of the respective regulatory enactments. Additionally, studying the part on the current developments in legal theory, the student acquires knowledge of the importance of legal theory in the professional practice of a lawyer. | ||||||||
Skills: | Students are able to apply legal theory and legal methods in order to be able to work independently and solve specific cases successfully. Students are able to explain and discuss findings of legal theory with both specialists and non-specialists. In addition, students strengthen the skills necessary to distinguish legal facts from other information, as well as the skills to apply their knowledge independently to substantiate and defend certain types of conclusions. | ||||||||
Competencies: | The main competence students acquire by completing this study course – the ability to deal with various types of legal dilemmas and cases. In addition, by solving relevant cases, the student is able to substantiate their actions and use relevant legal terms by linking the findings of legal theory and practice. Students are able to independently use the theory, methods, and problem-solving skills acquired during the study courses in their work in order to carry out research work and carry out highly qualified work professionally. | ||||||||
