Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Knowledge of pathological physiology, propaedeutics (including laboratory and instrumental diagnostics) and clinical pharmacology. Internal diseases knowledge gained from previous academic years.
Objective:
Create a standardized approach to history taking with simulated (standardized) patient model in which students are trained to collect structured clinical history and formulate further investigation plan in simulated environment.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Mini lectures and clinical cases analogous from “E-studies” resources. Patient history interpretation, treatment plan, possible diagnoses formulation according to clinical case.
Assessment Criteria:
Study course acquisition will be assessed according to OSCE standards: participation in simulated situations, discussions and clinical case studies.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:On successful completion of the course the students will have acquired knowledge and skills of targeted and structured patient history taking from patient who presents complaints of cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, loss of consciousness, dysphagia.
Skills:On successful completion of the course students will be able to purposely take medical history and formulate most probable diagnosis and differential diagnosis, assign investigation plan.
Competencies:After successful completion of study course students will be able to recognize symptoms of diseases covered by the program and choose appropriate diagnostic methods to use.
