Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Successfully achieved knowledge, clinical skills and competencies of previously completed “Medicine” program’s study courses. Students must be familiar with clinical skills included in the study course "Basics of Clinical Care" (MDAK_256) description.
Objective:
To improve skills previously achieved during “Basics of Clinical Care” (MDAK_256) study course through Clinical Skills and Medical Tech dpt. staff supported pre-clinical students' practical work in RSU Medical Education and Technology Centre.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Theoretical acquisition of given clinical skill’s process using materials available on e-studies. Substantive improvement of student’s clinical skills in METC simulated environment.
Assessment Criteria:
Clinical skills included in this study course are evaluated during a practical class by Clinical Skills and Medical Tech dpt. teachers according to RSU approved criteria. 100% attendance and succesfully passed MCQ tests (available on e-studies) are mandatory. Student’s clinical skills, including the ability to choose appropriate equipment, are evaluated during final assessment basing on RSU approved criteria.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Students are able to describe main goals and indications of clinical skills included in this course as well as discuss main steps necessary for successful completion of each particular clinical skill. Students are able to name and choose appropriate equipment needed for fulfillment of each clinical skill.
Skills:Students are able to choose appropriate equipment and successfully (according to RSU approved description and evaluation criteria) demonstrate clinical skills in pre-clinical settings (using mannequins, simulated environment, etc).
Competencies:Students are able to evaluate indications for particular clinical skills included in this course’s description and are able to successfully perform it.
