Objective:
To develop an understanding of the social policy, state and municipal provision in the field of social services and social assistance, basic principles of providing social assistance.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:After successfully completing the study course, the student will be able to: • describe the social security system; • recognise the levels of social work practice; • recognise and explain social problems; • explain the work specifics of social work specialists; • describe the state and municipal benefits system; • recognise social services.
Skills:After successfully completing the study course, the student will be able to: • name 3 elements of the social security system; • name social work specialists; • list the duties of social work specialists; • list the basic principles of determining the amount of benefits; • describe the social assistance provision of at least one municipality; • name social problems.
Competencies:Able to describe social security systems. Able to formulate the tasks of social work specialists. Able to describe the provision of state and municipal benefits.
