Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
The elements of the Latvian social security system, their legislative base. Social services of local governments, their clients. Social work organisation in municipalities.
Objective:
To know the elements of social services, the process of creating new social services and the monitoring system of existing social services.

Unaided Work:
Study of literature sources, practical work, group work. Independently create a description of one kind of social service in accordance with the given structure.
Assessment Criteria:
A description of one kind of social service has been prepared and presented. Activity in group work classes. Knowledge of theoretical material.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Understand the process and components of creating social services and social programs, analyze the existing social services, determine the main activities and performance indicators of social services.
Skills:Carry out an assessment of the needs of the target group, develop a description of social services, monitoring of social services.
Competencies:Ability to use the acquired skills and knowledge in the development, administration and analysis of social programs and social services.
