Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Knowledge of the special features of human development, on social work with case, knowledge of social assistance and social services, knowledge of family policy and legislation in Latvia.
Objective:
Raising awareness and promoting the acquisition of basic knowledge about social work with family.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Conducting an in-depth study of topics; reading mandatory and recommended literature; acquainting with studies and legislation; watching video and recommended films with tasks following.
Assessment Criteria:
Attendance of lectures and classes; participation in study visits; completion of independent works; participation in group works; passed examination.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Acquire knowledge and understanding of the topics listed in the description of the content of the study course: functioning and dysfunction of the family, deviances and their types, dependencies and their types, model of social competence, types of violence, characteristics and consequences of violence, types of human trafficking, prevention and levels, detection and rehabilitation, social worker's activity at levels of practices.
Skills:Acquire assessment and intervention skills.
Competencies:Know how to apply acquired knowledge and skills to social work with family.
