Preliminary Knowledge:
Philosophy, Ethics, Communication and personality psychology, Introduction to law.
Objective:
To deepen the knowledge and understanding of the existing regulatory framework in health care: rights and obligations of medical practitioners and patients, storage of medical records, protection of personal data; legal aspects of midwifery work: procedures for providing obstetric care, rights and obligations of individuals in the field of sexual and reproductive health, labour law, as well as record keeping procedures and the circulation of documents and the processing of submissions.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Analysis of laws and regulations, literature, case solving, teamwork.
Assessment Criteria:
A 10-point grading system is used to assess students' knowledge, and the criteria described in RSU Academic Regulations are used for assessment. 50 % - The student independently prepares a report on a topic of medical law and its regulatory framework, and presents it. 50 % - A test on topics related to drafting of documents.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Upon completion of the study course, students will know about the rights and duties of medical practitioners and patients, protection of personal data, storage of medical records, legal aspects of the procedure for providing obstetric care, rights and duties of individuals in the field of sexual and reproductive health. Students will have a general understanding of labour law and the legal framework of employment relations Students will be familiar with the existing legal framework for record-keeping, drawing up and circulation of documents, recording and storage of records in accordance with the institution's file nomenclature, as well as the registration and control of document circulation, and the procedure for dealing with applications. Students will have developed an understanding of medical law and its role in the processes of social life and professional activity.
Skills:Students will understand the legal aspects of the profession: medical law, including the rights and duties of medical practitioners and patients, and the record keeping of medical documentation, the legal aspects of the procedure for providing obstetric care, the rights and obligations of individuals in the field of sexual and reproductive health. Students will understand labour law, legal aspects of drafting, execution, circulation, record-keeping, storage and registration of documents, as well as the legal framework for handling applications.
Competencies:Students will be able to apply medical law, know the rights and duties of medical practitioners and patients, protect personal data, including medical records, know the legal aspects of the procedure for providing maternity care in accordance with the legal framework. Students will have a general understanding of labour law, will be able to prepare documents, to draw up and keep records and to organise the storage of documents in accordance with the institution's file nomenclature, and will be able to register documents, to ensure the circulation of documents, to control the circulation of documents and to respond to applications in accordance with the legal and regulatory framework.
