The ability to make an analytical overview of the health history and philosophy of care and their relationship to modern changes in health care.
Assessment Criteria:

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Study course leads to student acquiring basic knowledge of the history of medicine and medical skills to link the development of the scientific progress in other areas.
Skills:On study course completion, students will be able to compare and evaluate the importance of history in development of medicine; ability to understand the historical significance of maternity assistance.
Competencies:Explore the evolution of the medicine in Latvia; acquire skills to explore the historical sources that reflect human activities in the medical field, to gather facts about the discoveries, events, processes, medical and maternity assistance, systematize them and draw theoretical generalizations using a modern approach.
