Preliminary Knowledge:
Preliminary knowledge in anatomy, physiology, supervision of physiological and pathological pregnancy and physiological obstetrics.
Objective:
To provide an understanding of the postpartum period of physiological and pathological pregnancies.

Unaided Work:
To study the optional and recommended reading for each specific practical class. Students prepare a report or presentation on one of the proposed topics.
Assessment Criteria:
Theoretical knowledge of students during lectures and classes, participation in classes, tests and presentations. Examination methods: short tests, preparation of reports and presentations. Final examination of the study course.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Upon successful completion of the study course students will gain an understanding of and will be able to tell about the anatomical, physiological, clinical changes in the postpartum period, about maternity care in the postpartum period.
Skills:As a result of completing the study course students will be able to use medical terminology of the postpartum period. Will use the obtained knowledge to identify abnormal postpartum conditions and educate pregnant women and women during the first week after labour about the postpartum period.
Competencies:Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to ensure optimal postpartum care to women during the first week after labour. Will know how to assess results of clinical investigation, will be able to analyse clinical postnatal situations, argue, logically express and explain their opinion.
