Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
To start study course (or semester) all previous assessments according to Study plan (D1) should be successfully passed. Knowledge of normal oral histology, physiology, anatomy, pathological morphology, basics of diagnostics, diagnostic radiology, pharmacology, dermatology, internal diseases.
Objective:
To give dental students understanding of the expression of other systemic disorders (cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, renal) in oral cavity and correct dentist behavior in cases of these diseases, as well as in cases of patients mental, congenital and acquired problems.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
1) Repeated visual studies of clinical pictures of diseases on facial skin and oral mucosa in Atlases of Skin and Oral Pathology, in order to freely recognise the pathological change. 2) Repeated studies of the suggested clinical material of pathological changes in oral cavity derived from the Oral Pathology Department archive and presented during lectures material. 3) Study of the proposed Oral medicine and pathology literature in relation to the pathological expression.
Assessment Criteria:
1) student active participation in classes; 2) test questions about the lecture topics; 3) the ability to describe the clinical pictures; 4) knowledge of the Latin medical terminology during describing the following pathology and localization; 5) the ability to put the correct diagnosis and recommend the treatment.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Manifestations of main cardiovascular and respiratory diseases in the oral mucosa and facial skin. Dentist's action in such cases. Side effects of drugs recommended for the treatment of cardiovascular problems, with possible manifestations in the oral mucosa. Manifestations of endocrine system and kidney disorders in oral mucosa. Dentist's tactic by main manifestations of pathologies of the hematological system in the oral mucosa.
Skills:To evaluate the situation and make right decision in the case of cardiovascular patient, consulting patients with dental problems. Evaluate a patient with gl. Thyroidoid and gl. Suprarenalis dysfunction, recognize the signs and symptoms of undiagnosed diabetes mellitus, choose appropriate medication in situations of dental problems. To diagnose the symptoms of hematological pathology in the oral mucosa, to assess their severity and to adopt appropriate tactics in case of both illness and dental problem.
Competencies:Recognize the main organ system manifestations in oral cavity and to choose the correct treatment options in cases of dental problems. Orient and discuss about the main organ system manifestations in the mouth of a dental patient of all ages and needs, if necessary, recommend to the appropriate specialist for further diagnostic measures and treatment.
