Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | Ability to assess and analyse clinical situations in theoretical models, using laboratory tests: diagnostics and explanation of pathogenesis in a particular patient, using clinically relevant tests
Assessment Criteria: | During the study course, lecturers test their knowledge with the help of short tests (multiple-choice choice test or other short form of examination according to the lecturer's instructions). Students take colloquia during their studies, which consist of theoretical questions in the form of a multiple-choice test and / or clinical tasks that reflect the pathologies acquired during the studies. At the end of the study course, in accordance with the planning of the respective study program, students take a written or electronic exam in the form of a multiple-choice choice test. According to RSU Study Regulations (approved by RSU Senate on April 21, 2020; protocol No.2-1 / 4/2020) clause 2.16, the final mark of the study course consists of cumulative assessment (50%) and true knowledge acquired by the student (50% ) according to the result of the final examination of the course. Evaluation of all tests, incl. percentage and with marks, is performed in accordance with the current version of Riga Stradiņš University Study Regulations I.
Final Examination (Full-Time): | Exam (Written)
Final Examination (Part-Time):
Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | As a result of the study course acquisition, the student will know and be able to explain the essence of certain diseases and general pathological processes; pathogenesis and its manifestations in clinical processes, imaging and laboratory examinations; causes and risk factors; possible complications and consequences, as well as outcomes, as far as the scope of the study course allows.
Skills: | As far as the scope of the study course allows, the student will be able to identify the most common pathologies in clinical tasks, evaluate the pathogenesis of diseases mentioned in the thematic plan, relate it to clinical manifestations and diagnostic bases, as well as take practical steps to organize necessary laboratory examinations, interpret and critically analyze their results in relation to the overall picture of the disease.
Competencies: | Using the acquired knowledge, the student will develop competencies in working with information and medical examination data.
