Assessment
Unaided Work:
- Video lectures 2.5 hours x 7, learning of the content is confirmed by a passed test (multiple-choice questions) after listening to the lectures - Getting acquainted with the required reading before each class (expected duration 2 hours for each class) - Preparation of answers to self-control questions before each class - Preparation of a clinical case (prepared in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, consisting of at least 5 slides)
Assessment Criteria:
It is possible to get an automatic final assessment if the average assessment is not lower than 6.5 points. The average assessment consists of the average grade obtained: - 1. in class tests (a multiple-choice test at the end of each class); - 2. in the test after lectures (a multiple-choice test taken by students after listening to all lectures); - 3. an independently prepared clinical case (created using one of the virtual clinical cases from a class or it can be a clinical case of an actual patient) - guidelines for creating a clinical case in e-studies. If the average assessment is below 6.5 or one of the above requirements is not met, an oral exam is held. When taking the exam, the final assessment consists of: 50% exam + 50% average grade in the classes.
Final Examination (Full-Time):Exam (Written)
Final Examination (Part-Time):
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:About the physiology and pathology of child development and growth related to child development, language, speech and behaviour disorders. After completing the study course in paediatrics, the student is able to distinguish the normal development and growth of a child from a pathological process. Orients oneself in the methods that help to determine the child’s individual compliance with physiological development.
Skills:To assess the child’s physical and psychosocial development, establish contact with the child and their parents, assess the information obtained during the conversation, check the child’s language and speech development and skills, self-care abilities, understand the cause of the disorder.
Competencies:Competences and skills in questioning children and parents, evaluating data, analysing clinical symptoms.
