Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Fundamentals of psychology, emergency medicine I and II, somatic diseases, geriatrics / gerontology, ergonomics, course work, technical aids circulation system, occupational therapy in psychiatry.
Objective:
Develop and consolidate the knowledge acquired in study courses somatic diseases and geriatrics and gerontology and apply it in clinical placement working with patients /clients who have various functional disorders.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Literature studies, clinical practice portfolio, clinical case studies and presentations by occupational therapy placement process structure guidelines.
Assessment Criteria:
Placement portfolio (25%), clinical case analysis (25%), combined exam at the end of the course (oral clinical case analysis and practical skills (50%).

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:On successful course acquisition student will be able to: • Recognize difficulties in occupation performance and functional limitations in adults and the elderly; • explain and justify different tactics of occupational therapy in somatic care.
Skills:On successful course acquisition under the teacher's supervision, student will be able to: • Assess functional limitations and difficulties in occupation performance in adults and the elderly; • Analyze and interpret assessment data; • Formulate short-term and long-term treatment goals; • Develop a treatment plan to follow-up; • Assess and document the result of the occupational therapy; • Prepare written and oral recommendations.
Competencies:During the course the student will develop the skills to select and analyze information, collaborate, present and argue their views, to take responsibility and initiative, through the work in the multiprofessional rehabilitation team.
