Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Pedagogy, Psychology, Early Childhood Development and Introduction to Speech Therapy, Anatomy, Physiology.
Objective:
To acquire knowledge for the field of speech therapy science and the profession of audiology therapy about speech tempo and rhythm disorders, stuttering. To understand the history of stuttering research in genetics, neurophysiology, neuropsychology and their relationship to speech tempo and rhythm disorders. To explain the causes of stuttering, early risk signs and the relationship to speech and language disorders in childhood. Using a research-based approach, be able to identify and assess the signs of stuttering disorder in children/adolescents and adults. Analyze information and integrate assessment results, plan correction / compensation directions and choose the most appropriate therapy techniques, respecting the person's functional capabilities. To carry out scientific research activities within the framework of the study course.
