Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
The course is designed for complete beginners, no preliminary knowledge is needed.
Objective:
To enable the students to use the Russian language in daily communicative situations at Level A1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning, Teaching and Assessment.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Homework given to do certain tasks; the acquisition of communicative lexis and grammar structures.
Assessment Criteria:
Regular attendance, active involvement in class activities, assignments completed timely and qualitatively. 3 tests passed, at the end of the course – the final exam with oral and written tasks.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:On successful completion of the course, students will know some basic Russian vocabulary, ways to make simple statements and questions, commonly used syntactic structures, the rules of producing the present tense forms of Russian verbs.
Skills:On successful completion of the course, students will be able to understand simple texts on the familiar topics of daily life, to use the acquired language structures in daily communication.
Competencies:Having acquired the course material, students will be able to communicate some basic information about oneself and daily activities, they will be able to produce monologues and dialogues on some daily topics.
