Objective:
To develop student's understanding of sports psychology and the psychological aspects of sports, the main trends and branches of psychology, research methods; psychological processes, personality, individual's emotional and cognitive development at different ages, aspects that influence personality development.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Students independently acquire video lectures and after them submit self-assessment tests. At the end of the study course, a case study is presented at the seminar.
Assessment Criteria:
1. Acquisition of video lectures, performance of self-examination tests - 20% 2. Active participation in practical classes - 20%. 3. The received case description is analyzed and it is presented in the seminar - 60%

Knowledge:• describes psychology as a science and its main tasks; • identifies the main trends in modern psychology; • characterizes the historical development of psychology; • describes the aspects of human psyche; • characterizes the main aspects of psychological development; • recognizes a person's psychological characteristics, states and psychological processes; • names the main research methods in psychology; • characterizes the individual's cognitive and emotional development at different ages; • identifies environmental factors in sports; • describes the types of motives in sports; • recognizes different emotions and feelings; • understands the psychological aspects of physical, technical and tactical preparation; • describes the main types of psychological training; • describes the psycho-emotional aspects of sports competitions; • characterizes the psychological preparedness of athletes in training and competitions; • understands the socio-psychological aspects of sports.
