Preliminary Knowledge:
Secondary school level knowledge in English, Mathematics and Essay writing.
Objective:
To introduce students with a structure of research work and basic principles of writing it.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
• Active individual work in classes. • At the end of the course – written homework – independently written research paper – qualitative, submitted in due time.
Assessment Criteria:
Accordance to formal research paper requirements (lack of plagiarism, the amount and orthography of literature sources in review and references, accordance of a research plan to the aim of the research, accordance of the research design to the aim of the research).

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:On successful completion of the course, students will be able to: • evaluate a concordance of a research publication to evidence based literature principles, • describe structure of a research paper, • describe designs of research.
Skills:On successful completion of the course, the students will be able to: • select and use evidence based literature, • summarize literature, • choose an appropriate design of research, • apply an appropriate method for data processing, • present research results.
Competencies:On successful completion of the course, students will be able to: • write independently a research paper, • obtain health information and critically evaluate it, • recognize health research designs, • use results of evidence based literature in practice.
