Preliminary Knowledge:
Individual counselling and psycho-dynamics in arts therapies, Assessment principles and process in arts therapy, Basic principles of arts therapy process for different groups of patients, Music therapy I.
Objective:
To develop the MA students' skills to choose and use methods and techniques according to the situation and the specificity of the group of clients/patients, to provide MA students with an opportunity to master music therapy (MT) methods and techniques in dealing with different groups of clients/patients, to develop the skills to apply therapeutic interventions and techniques in the therapeutic process appropriately.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
To independently consolidate the lecture material by reading the indicated sources systematically; to aggregate MT methods for dealing with a particular group of clients/patients; to draw up an arts therapy plan for two particular groups of clients/patients (individually and in a group); to prepare for conducting practically one MT session according to an elaborated plan for a group of students by modelling work with a particular group of clients/patients. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.
Assessment Criteria:
Elaborate a MT plan for two particular groups of clients/patients (individually and in a group) (50%); conduct in practice one MT session according to the elaborated plan, provide written self-reflection concerning the conducted session (50%).

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Explain the theoretical substantiation of various MT methods and techniques, compare various MT theoretical approaches for dealing with different groups of clients/patients in differing environment; characterise the basic principles of artistic work analysis; mention and substantiate the peculiarities and interventions of MT process organisation while dealing with various groups of clients/patients in various placement locations/workplaces in health care.
Skills:Set and formulate the aims and tasks of music therapy, appropriate for the group of clients/patients, choose the theoretical approaches, according to which a music therapy plan is drawn up, taking into account the specificity, age and possible risks of the group of clients/patients; use appropriate MT methods, techniques and interventions; analyse and assess MT process and results; execute protocols.
Competencies:Apply MT methods, techniques and interventions according to the specificity of the group of clients/patients and MT aims; organise and conduct separate MT sessions individually and in a group, analyse their structure, contents and therapeutic relationship, assess results; recognise their own professional restrictions and possibilities; demonstrate emphatic, respect and understanding-based attitude towards the clients/patients; carry out self-reflection.
