The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Pedagogical Development Centre invites you to attend the interactive international workshop 'How to Write a Poster', organised by the RSU Department of Family Medicine on Wednesday, 6 March.

Aims and contents

Presenting a poster at a conference is a great way of telling people about your research. This 60-minute interactive workshop will give you advice on how to design and write a good poster.

This will be an interactive workshop, not a lecture, with some pre-course reading included and discussions within the workshop.

Lecturers

Prof. Michael Harris (UK)

Prof. Harris has been a GP for 30 years. He is a professor of primary care near the city of Bath in Southwest England. He has academic posts at the universities of Bath and Exeter in the UK, at the Shupyk National Academy of Postgraduate Education, Ukraine, as well as the University of Bern in Switzerland.

His academic interests are: research on early diagnosis of cancer in primary care (he leads the Örenäs Research Group, a 30-country European research collaborative); research in medical education; teaching about critical appraisal skills and medical statistics; developing primary care research. He is a mentor of the European GEneral Practice Research Network (EGPRN) Fellowship programme for primary care researchers who are early in their research careers. Prof. Harris is a guest professor at RSU.

Prof. Hans Thulesius (Sweden)

Prof. Thulesius is an associate professor at Lund University since 2011 and has been a professor at Linnaeus University since 2019 in connection with the start of the Medical Programme in Kalmar. He is the Swedish editor of the Scandinavian Journal of Primary Health Care since 2010 having edited >400 manuscripts for the journal. This experience helps him advance other researchers' publication and writing skills. Prof. Thulesius is a guest professor at RSU.
