Preliminary Knowledge:
Legal Theory, Introduction to Civil Law.
Objective:
Enable students to acquire general knowledge of legal conflicts and practical application of their knowledge to alternative dispute resolution (ADR), particularly mediation, and develop skills and abilities to identify and resolve legal conflicts independently.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
1) describe the mediation process in a specific conflict situation (task – role play), starting from the phase of the mediation process specified in the task; 2) prepare a report on an issue of legal conflictology. In order to evaluate the quality of the study course as a whole, the student must fill out the study course evaluation questionnaire on the Student Portal.
Assessment Criteria:
Active participation in classes, timely submission of high-quality written homework; quality of answers in classes, individual work: homework assignments, a written examination.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:On completion of the course students are able to demonstrate the understanding of the key concepts and regularities of legal conflictology. Are able to demonstrate the place and role of legal conflictology in the legal system; are able to use terminology correctly as well as have familiarised themselves with the practical application of the conclusions of legal conflictology; have knowledge of alternative dispute resolution methods.
Skills:Upon completion of the course students are able to express and analytically describe information, problems and solutions in the field of legal conflictology using the theoretical bases and skills acquired, to explain them and discuss them reasonably with both professionals and non-professionals. Students are able to carry out professional, innovative or research activities using the theoretical background and skills in the field of legal conflictology. Students are able to demonstrate a scientific approach in resolving legal conflicts. Students are able to structure their learning independently, make decisions and find creative solutions in changing or uncertain circumstances.
Competencies:On completion of the course students are able to independently acquire, select and analyse information and use it; are able to use their knowledge and skills in academic and personal development. Students are able to participate in the development of the relevant professional field. Able to take decisions and address problems in the relevant scientific discipline or profession by offering not only formal solutions to conflicts, but also finding solutions that serve the expectations and priorities of the public (local community) and to improve public administration.
