Objective:
To acquaint students with the content of the politics and to provide an in-depth understanding of the political processes within the state and in interstate relations. Tasks: 1. To have knowledge of the content of the politics and political systems; 2. To understand the functioning of political ideologies; 3. To be able to orient in the political processes in Latvia and in interstate relations.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Ability to demonstrate comprehensive and specialised, proper knowledge and understanding of contemporary political tendencies and political processes in Latvia and in the world.
Skills:Students are able to explain the history of politics, its main directions, its development and tell about the most important politicians in Latvia and in the world.
Competencies:Ability to describe and analyse practical problems related to various fields of politics, as well as select and use information for communicating with the public in the field of politics.
