Preliminary Knowledge:
Prior knowledge is not necessary.
Objective:
To extend the students’ knowledge of the processes in the development of culture in the world and in Latvia from the ancient times until today. Tasks: 1. Help students to understand the interconnection between the development of culture in the world and in Latvia; 2 Evaluate the cultural situation of the peoples of the world and Latvia in different periods of history.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Able to demonstrate comprehensive and specialised knowledge and understanding of the world culture from the most ancient times to the present.
Skills:Able to apply general and special terminology, carry out practical tasks related to the world culture from the most ancient times to the present day; Able to prepare a written report on a topic related to the world culture, analyse the world culture and provide constructive solutions to the world culture and present a report.
Competencies:Able to characterise and analyse practical issues of the world culture, select and use information on topical issues of the world culture.
