Preliminary Knowledge: | Prior to this course it is necessary to study the course “General Physical Training”. | ||||||||
Objective: | The purpose of professional physical fitness is creation of a harmonious, many-sided and developed personality that is prepared for the work in the service. For this purpose, devices and methods are used that are adequate for the particular action of a police officer. Acquire and perfect special combat techniques and tactical use of special devices. Improve students’ special, physical fitness and professional physical training. According to the professional standard for the junior officer of the State Police: to develop students’ skills in identifying, detaining and prosecuting of offenders, to develop the ability to make tactical assessment of circumstances, to act in emergency and conflict situations and, if necessary, to apply self-defence techniques and devices efficiently and accurately. Tasks: 1. Develop the ability to act and make independent decisions; 2. Learn new, innovative special combat techniques; 3. Develop special physical qualities (strength, speed, agility, coordination of movements, etc.); 4. Develop the ability to detain offenders in various situations independently and in cooperation with colleagues; 5. Develop skills for the use of attack-repelling tactics. | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Professional fitness training course covers the structure of the special and use-of-force techniques (basic movements) applied during the performance of the service. Students develop the understanding of the relevant training methods which fall within the integrated training methodology. Thus the future specialists (police officers) are prepared for the second stage of studies (modular training, integrated learning) for the development of various basic qualifications, which is a process involving a number of study courses, oriented towards practical activity. | ||||||||
Skills: | Able to use different practical skills necessary to perform various tasks of professional fitness training using simple means; to solve everyday situations. To assess the situation, to analyse the justification of the use of physical force, special devices and firearms. To demonstrate skills that allow find creative, innovative solutions to professional problems, improving their expertise | ||||||||
Competencies: | Motivated for further education and career development; able to formulate and analyse practical problems in their activity. Able to take responsibility for the quality of the results of the professional activity. | ||||||||
