Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Acquired theoretical course in "Clinical pharmacology" as part of Master's degree programme. Pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, practical pharmacy and pharmaceutical legislation, social pharmacy and pharmaceutical care.
Objective:
Aim is to strengthen theoretical base and practical skills of the students who have participated in other "Clinical pharmacology" study courses of the graduate programme.
Assessment
Unaided Work:
Each week students analyse one clinical case that includes: patient information, assessing the treatment regimen, clinical trial data on the cases, pharmaceutical intervention suggestions referring to the principles of evidence-based medicine, the course of treatment cost analysis (both the original and the recommended adjustment cases). The choice of the patient to be analysed should be confirmed with the placement supervisor. Each student performs induvidual work, group work is not allowed. During the placement the students get acquainted with the patients that have been selected by placement supervisor (2 – 4 patients per week): patient's diagnosis, examination data, treatment regimens. In placement diary students show the count of patients and their diagnosis.
Assessment Criteria:
Practice diary of the cycle must be signed by the student and supervisor. Practice supervisors assessment of the Placement diary is evaluated in 10-point system.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:The student will understand the medication use in the hospital and the circulation of pharmacological documentation.
Skills:The student will be able to analyse and evaluate the medical treatment of urological patients. Together with the doctor the student will be able to set up a treatment plan and monitor its implementation.
Competencies:The student will assess and analyse the treatment plan according to international recommendations and the financial resources available.
