Objective:
Acquire basic knowledge of the principles of the healthcare organisation. Raise awareness of the place and role of the chosen profession in health care.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Students prepare a presentation on a topic relevant to the profession they are studying, based on the topics covered: Basic health policy values, documents. Development of health care. Healthcare legislation. The organisational structure of Latvian public health care. Documentation regulating the work of a masseur.
Assessment Criteria:
Presentation: 70% - An individual company or a company created by a natural person, or Potential new structure for a healthcare organisation model. Test: the percentage of the final score of 30%.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Knows internationally accepted core values that form a basis for health policy; key international and Latvian health policy documents. Will be aware of the organisation and financing of health care, social assistance and education systems, models of financing rehabilitation services, and public and private (client) responsibilities in this area.
Skills:Will identify the necessary provision for professional aspects of masseur in the organisational structure and management of Latvian public health care.
Competencies:Will be able to plan and organise own work as a masseur and the workplace, working independently or in a team. Will be able to comply with the requirements of the legislation in the professional field of medicine. Will be able to organise their activities in a professional manner in accordance with the professional standard.
