Preliminary Knowledge: | Civil Law, Intellectual Property Rights (industrial property, copyright, related rights). | ||||||||
Objective: | To offer students the opportunity to supplement their knowledge in the field of intellectual property rights, emphasizing contemporary trends, especially the specifics of intellectual property rights protection and compliance in the digital environment. | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the specifics of intellectual property rights protection in the digital environment, including the specificity of the legal framework in the Republic of Latvia, the EU, the world that provides the basis for research, including working in different fields. | ||||||||
Skills: | Able to identify specifics and infringements of intellectual property rights, especially in the digital environment, and to propose solutions to ensure the protection of intellectual property rights. By extending the study course, the student is able to argue and also explain the complex terms of the relevant intellectual property field and discuss with the specialists in the field. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Able to critically analyze practice examples, provide a sound solution for intellectual property protection in the digital environment. Upon completion of the study course, the student is able to constructively analyze legal processes related to intellectual property, discuss and substantiate his / her opinion. | ||||||||
