Independent learning also includes work with study materials and preparing reports on selected topics (bronchial asthma control, directions of arrhythmia treatment, helicobacterium and gastrointestinal diseases, history of insulin therapy).
Assessment Criteria:
The student’s interest and participation in lectures and classes is continuously assessed at 20%, the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, to draw conclusions, as well as patient examination skills. Students’ knowledge and skills are assessed through regular tests – 30%. Final examination – an exam – 50%.
Final Examination (Full-Time):Exam (Written)
Final Examination (Part-Time):
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:As a result of completing the study course, students will know the aetiology and pathogenesis of internal diseases, recognise and define clinical symptoms and syndromes, will be able to name and describe diagnostic methods (anamnesis data, physical examination of the patient, laboratory and instrumental examinations) and principles of disease treatment.
Skills:As a result of completing the study course, students will be able to apply theoretical knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases: to clarify the patient’s complaints and take anamnesis, to perform physical examination of the patient (examination, palpation, percussion, auscultation), to determine vital signs and relate them to a specific clinical situation, will be able to evaluate the results of laboratory and instrumental examinations, to summarise the data obtained, to relate the diagnosis of the disease and to draw up fragments of the medical history.
Competencies:As a result of completing the study course, students will be able to identify clinical signs of diseases and syndromes and differentiate them according to their severity and degree of hazard, analyse situations, argue, logically formulate and explain their opinion. To independently perform the duties of a physician’s assistant related to the treatment, care and psychological support of a patient.
