From 22 – 23 March Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will host the annual scientific conference. Over 800 researchers representing social sciences and healthcare will present 351 papers on global and domestic issues in 14 different thematic panels. The conference activities will be held in three different locations: the RSU central building at 16 Dzirciema iela, Riga, the Anatomical Theatre at 9 Kronvalda bulvāris, Riga and the medical history panel will be held in Munchausen’s Museum, in Dunte Castle, Salacgrīva Municipality.

 

This Thursday, at 10.00 the conference opening speech at RSU Great Hall will be given by RSU Rector, Professor Aigars Pētersons, followed by a presentation by Head of A. Kirhenšteins Institute of Microbiology and Virology Assoc. Prof. Modra Muravska “The role of viral infections in the development of non-infectious diseases” and Assistant Professor Reinis Balmaks with a presentation “The use of simulation in medical education and the research environment”. The opening session of the conference will be closed by a presentation of Assoc. Prof. Jānis Grasis on “Problems associated with the prevention of money laundering in Latvia: historical heritage and the future”

The RSU annual medical conference is the central medical and social sciences event in Latvia that is organised by Rīga Stradiņš University. The conference brings together academic staff, researchers and students, medical residents and doctoral students who present their scientific theses and papers covering RSU priority research directions.
