About Study Course
Objective
In order to obtain a bachelor's (health) degree in the profession of audiology, students must acquire knowledge about mental health, age characteristics of children's psychological development, causes and clinical manifestations of neurotic disorders in children and adolescents. To develop an understanding of the role of an audiologist in the treatment of mental disorders. Knowledge of the main types of mental disorders, their symptoms in children and adolescents, as well as adults, paying special attention to neurotic, stress-related and somatoform disorders – their manifestations of developmental, behavioural and emotional disorders and their treatment, assistance and correction.

Learning outcomes
To present, demonstrate and systematize knowledge about the prevalence, etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and course of mental and behavioural disorders (according to ICD-10), the role of an audiologist in the treatment of mental disorders; the basic principles of social rehabilitation of patients and the role of psychotherapeutic treatment in primary care.
Can independently analyse the classification of mental disorders (ICD-10). Based on the understanding of psychopathological symptoms and syndromes can make diagnostic and differential-diagnostic decisions about organic and symptomatic mental disorders, affective disorders and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Can give special attention to child and adolescent neuroses, somatophorm, emotional and behavioural disorders. Can treat childrens’ audiologopedic disorders based on the model of a multifunctional team, involving child psychiatrists, psychotherapists and psychologists – in treatment of logoneuroses, dyslalia and dysartria.
Can independently plan and take the responsibility for long-term multifunctional audiologopedic help both on individual basis, and in correction groups. Are confident in understanding and using the evidence-based approach, and is familiar with contemporary EU normative acts in public health, and WHO recommendations that regulate professional activity. Can use the relevant professional information resources, take part in scientific conferences to further ones continuous education. Can take part in generating new scientific knowledge by doing research.
