Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is a modern, prestigious university that is recognised in Europe and the world. The University's main value is its people and this results in research-based, high-quality, exportable higher education.

To train high-quality healthcare and social science professionals for the European and global community, and ensure that the knowledge, skills, competences and attitudes acquired during studies are in line with the highest European Union requirements and form a solid basis for lifelong learning.

In our eyes education is power – it is a power that can bring about significant changes, but it requires ambition. We ourselves do not lack ambition, and we expect it from others.

While it is good to be an expert in your field, combining and sharing that knowledge is even better. We believe that an interdisciplinary approach opens us up to finding solutions to modern-day challenges.

Quality Management

RSU uses a modern approach to quality improvement so as to ensure a high quality in studies and research that is focused on the University's continuous improvement and development in pursuit of excellence.

The Quality Policy is based on the University's strategy and values and comprises four key principles: quality, partnerships, a student-centred approach, and learning and experience based in research and practice.

In 2002, RSU was the first institution of higher education in Latvia to certify its quality management system according to the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001. Since then, the University has continued to maintain its quality management system certification, demonstrating that it is continuously committed to the development and improvement of its activities.

As a socially responsible employer, RSU cares about environmental protection and implements a sustainable, energy-efficient policy in its activities, applies energy-efficient solutions, and ensures that energy efficiency targets are achieved.

In 2017, RSU received an international ISO 50001 certificate, confirming that the University's energy management system is certified in accordance with the requirements of this standard.

With the introduction of the energy management system, RSU has committed itself to introducing energy-efficiency solutions, which are the basis for rational and efficient energy use and will ensure a reduction in the total energy consumption of the University in the long run.

The scope of certification of RSU is: higher education, life-long learning, research.
