Preliminary Knowledge:
No preliminary knowledge of the Russian language is required.
Objective:
The aim of the course is to enable students to use the Russian language in daily communication at levels A1/A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning, Teaching and Assessment.

7Clocks, time, time management. Time expression – formal and informal. Который час? Event time and venue В котором часу....? Seasons, birthdays – ordinal numbers from 1 to 10 and over 10. 8My daily routine. Planning of a weekday. A weekday in progress. Perfect and imperfect verbs, their forms and usage. Perfect verb prefixes вы-,на-, по-, под-, при- про-, с-, за-, у-. Adverbs of imperfect verbs. Как часто? – всегда, иногда, часто, редко, обычно, долго. The future tense – simple and compound future; future tense forms and conjugation. Assessment
Unaided Work:
The study course implementation: through practical classes and student's unaided work.
Assessment Criteria:
Regular attendance of the classes, active involvement in class activities, assignments completed timely and qualitatively. 4 tests passed – one for each of the course topics, at the end of the course – the final exam with oral and written tasks. The examination is assessed with marks (1-10). The total mark is calculated on the basis of the examination mark and other tests or presentations of the semester.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Having acquired the course material, students will know the rules of Russian pronunciation and writing, the basic Russian vocabulary, basic statements and questions, correct word order in the sentence; phrases required for communicative exchange beginning and maintaining, information exchange; common Russian language patterns; the formation and usage of Russian verbs in the past, present, and future.
Skills:Having acquired the course material, students will be able: to comprehend simple texts on familiar everyday topics, letters, invitations, advertisements in media and other authentic materials; to use the acquired language in everyday communicative situations.
Competencies:Having acquired the course material, students will be able: to give some information about themselves, their family, living conditions, studies; to produce an invitation or a personal letter, short messages, put down some information; to produce a monologue or to participate in a dialogue on various topics related to daily routine and studies.
