Assessment
Unaided Work:
The student independently acquires the literature offered in the study program, summarizes the obtained information. An assessment of the pharmacist's drug therapy and a plan for parenteral and enteral nutrition shall be prepared.
Assessment Criteria:
• Active participation in practical classes, timely submitted, high-quality homework, quality of oral answers (50%). • Exam: knowledge of the topics acquired in the study course is tested (including analysis of drug therapy and development of a parenteral and enteral feeding plan) (50%).
Final Examination (Full-Time):Exam (Written)
Final Examination (Part-Time):
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Students will have acquired knowledge that will allow: • understand methods of anesthesiology and intensive therapy; • understand the action and indications of use of drugs used in anesthesiology; • understand the mechanism of shock formation and prevention; • know the methods of evaluating acid-cold balance and blood gases, interpret the obtained data.
Skills:The student will be able to: • interpret the results of the intensive therapy patient's biochemical data, determine the necessary therapy corrections based on the obtained results; • draw up an enteral and/or parenteral nutrition plan for an intensive care patient.
Competencies:The student will be able to: • in cooperation with medical personnel, determine a medical treatment plan for an individual patient in intensive therapy; • evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of medicinal treatment methods, linking them to the patient's examination data; • monitor the course of drug therapy, evaluate the results and prepare the necessary information for other medical specialists.
