Preliminary Knowledge: | Law Enforcement Agencies, Human Rights. | ||||||||
Objective: | Acquaint students with phenomena and processes that endanger human security. During the course, special attention will be paid to the problems of identifying various threats to human security, promoting acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills, exploring anti-social processes and phenomena in Latvia and abroad. | ||||||||

Unaided Work: | Independent study of literature. Carrying out a research project on human security issues that a student presents in a class. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | The final assessment consists of a well-designed and defended research work in the field of human security (50%) and an examination (50%). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Acquired theoretical knowledge of threats to human security, their types and prevention measures. | ||||||||

Competencies: | Scientific and practical motivation has been strengthened in order to identify the risk factors of human security threats and the skills have been developed to ensure security. | ||||||||
