Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Prior knowledge is not necessary.
Objective:
1. To introduce students with key functions of human resource management and their practical implementation: recruitment, evaluation, training, career planning, and motivation. 2. To learn special legislation regulating the service of the senior officials with special service ranks in the institutions of the Ministry of the Interior and their application in the process of human resource management. 3. To acquire practical skills in the implementation of human resource management procedures in the services of the Ministry of the Interior, including, shortlisting of candidates and carrying out their conformity assessment, monitoring of officials during the set probation period, performance evaluation for officials. Tasks: 1. Organise and manage the work of subordinate structural units and/or staff; 2. Understand the employee behaviour; 3. Take measures to increase staff motivation. 4. Apply the latest forms of work organisation and information technologies. 5. Prepare documents for human resource management processes at the State Police. 6. Carry out performance evaluation for officials, including conducting evaluation and further development planning interviews for subordinate officials. 7. Know and be competent in special laws and regulations regulating the progress of the service for the officials of the Ministry of the Interior having special service ranks.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Able to demonstrate comprehensive and specialised work-related knowledge and understanding of human resource management processes in the State Police.
Skills:Students can apply their knowledge in human resource management; able to prepare a written report on the topic related to human resource management, analyse data and provide constructive solutions to the problem and present it.
Competencies:Able to characterise and analyse practical issues related to human resource management processes, as well as to select and use information at work.
