Preliminary Knowledge: | The concept and concept of health, microbiology with virosolology and parazitology, general care, control of infections in care, public health and epidemiology. | ||||||||
Objective: | Understanding causation leading to undesirable outcomes in the course of treatment for both patients and personnel, the methods to be applied for identifying risks and contributing factors and increasing patient and personnel safety on the basis of compliance with the principles of the system and human factor or ergonomics. Present new initiatives, recommendations and examples of good practice in Europe. | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | Students will be able to describe causation leading to an unwanted outcome in patient and personnel safety. Will be able to record the role of the working environment and risk factors for health workers. Students will be able to explain various biosecurity criteria for health-care patients. | ||||||||
Skills: | Independently assess and explain the role of environmental health as a deterrent to environmental science and medicine in the preservation of patient and personnel health. Will be able to assess the risks to patient safety and the working environment and the factors affecting them. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Analyse situations, measures to prevent and reduce environmental harmful factors. Assess and explain the patient safety criteria. | ||||||||
