Study course description
Preliminary Knowledge:
Care process and ethics, general psychology, interpersonal communication in health care, transcultural care.
Objective:
To promote students' understanding and ability to successfully plan, implement and evaluate solutions to intercultural care problems – for the individual, the group and the community, based on understanding and tolerance.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Students actively participate in lectures and seminars. During the course, students discuss the topic in each lesson, participate in role-playing games, and receive assignments: perform in-depth research on the topic, prepare a presentation with evidence-based data.
Assessment Criteria:
Student participation in lectures and classes – 25%; tests in classes – 25%; individually prepared presentation – 50%. The final course paper is presented in a group, discussed, then supplemented and delivered within the deadline.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:As a result of the study course students acquire knowledge and understanding of health care system as an organisation and culture, cultural models, responses to diversity, promotion of tolerance.
Skills:As a result of the study course students develop skills to analyde, integrate, synthesise acquired knowledge, use it as an approach to patient care.
Competencies:As a result of the study course students develop their cultural competence: their understanding of the culture and their knowledge of other cultures, applying it to solving a specific, different problem situation.
