Preliminary Knowledge:
Knowledge in nursing study subjects, informatics, statistics.
Objective:
To deepen the understanding of evidence-based practice and research process in order to promote and implement clinically effective care and decision-making, to improve the ability to use research results in practice, as well as to develop critical thinking.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Work with literature to gain in-depth knowledge of evidence-based practice. Work with scientific literature - scientific articles that reflect research on health care and medical topics, search in databases, analysis, description of articles and submission of descriptions. assessment of the use of scientific evidence in practice in different environments of health care, identification of barriers, identification of opportunities of development of quality of care, comparison with other countries. Development of the course work : “Evidence-based practice”.
Assessment Criteria:
Final exam – presentation of the work of the study course "Evidence-based care" (evaluation in a 10-point system.) Evaluation criteria: 1) midterm - test (evaluation in a 10-point system.); 2) research analysis (in writing) and presentation according to the given criteria (evaluation in a 10-point system.)

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:As a result of the study course, students will know the importance of evidence-based practice and the evidence-based practice components as well us process, evidence databases and search strategies.
Skills:As a result of the study course students will be able to assess the importance of scientific method in nursing practice, explain the relationship between theory, research and evidence-based practice, search for evidence in online databases, critically analyse research articles based on the level of evidence, synthesize evidence to make clinical decision .
Competencies:To argue and substantiate with scientific evidence the nursing practice. Competence of evidence-based clinical decision-making, evaluating the results of research in accordance with the patient's and family's wishes. Competence in identifying problems of nursing practice by demonstrating analytical skills in evaluating research results. Will be able to independently formulate a research question in the field of health care; to obtain, select and analyse information of research in accordance with the principles of scientific methodology; to evaluate the use of evidence-based practice in practice in different settings in health care.
