Preliminary Knowledge:
Psychology, psychiatry, occupational therapy.
Objective:
The aim is to apply previously acquired theoretical knowledge into practice, to improve practical skills and competence in order to be able to work independently as an occupational therapist with people who have mental retardation.

Scientific article summaries and clinical case preparation and presentation.
Assessment Criteria:
The presentation of clinical cases 20%; according to the presented placement documentation requirements 30%; placement defence 50%.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Students will be able to find, select and explain occupational therapy tactics in dealing with clients who have various degrees of mental delay.
Skills:Students will be able to collect systematic information to assess the client, respect the ethical standards and confidentiality, build a therapeutic relationship and to cooperate with the client and other professionals. To plan, to document the treatment process and assess its effectiveness. Will be able to organise and manage group sessions. Will be able to plan and use time effectively.
Competencies:Students will be able to formulate and analyse a person's with mental retardation occupational performance difficulties, to develop and implement the treatment plan.
