Preliminary Knowledge:
General psychology.
Objective:
To provide students with an insight into the concept of stress, the effects of stress, the role of social support in stressful situations, the manifestations and nature of stress in professional work, the possible consequences of stress, strategies for managing stress.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
Students read the literature independently and prepare for the exam on the material they have read, perform a small self-analysis of their stress level, taking into account the tests performed in the seminars; at the end of the course, give a pre-home presentation of some stress reduction technique.
Assessment Criteria:
Students actively participate in lectures and classes (20%); independently read the literature and pass the exam (40%); at the end of the course hand in an independently prepared presentation (20%) and present it to others during final classes (20%).

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Students understand and explain the concept of stress, the relation of stress to human health, social support and professional work, the possible consequences of stress; understand stress management strategies.
Skills:Students reasonably discuss the relationship between stress and human health and professional work and psychological resilience, and strategies for coping with stress.
Competencies:Students assess the risks of stress, explain the relationship of stress to human health and professional work; focus on stress management strategies.
