Preliminary Knowledge: | Pre-requisite knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, knowledge of psychology, gymnastics and terminology. | ||||||||
Objective: | To teach the theory, practical skills and abilities of the Pilates classical gymnastics system. | ||||||||

Assessment | |||||||||
Unaided Work: | During the course, students continuously or in groups perform and demonstrate Pilates classical series exercises, paying particular attention to their proper technique and breathing. | ||||||||
Assessment Criteria: | Examination during the study process (30%), theoretical (30%) and practical examination (40%). | ||||||||

Learning Outcomes | |||||||||
Knowledge: | On completion of the study course students acquire basic knowledge in Pilates classical gymnastics system theory, methodology and design. | ||||||||
Skills: | During the study course students use the basic movements of a technically correct Pilates exercise, using the basic principles, methodically correctly conducting Pilates classical series classes and dose the load. Are able to correct the mistakes a client makes, as well as to develop different new Pilates classical series programmes according to selected goals. | ||||||||
Competencies: | Using the acquired knowledge and skills, students will be able to evaluate the proper Pilates exercise technique and the need to use it to improve health and fitness. Methodically correctly conduct Pilates classical series classes and proportion the load, correct customer errors and control exercise technique, compile various Pilates classical programmes depending on the chosen goal. | ||||||||
