Preliminary Knowledge:
Basic psychology knowledge, introduction to speciality, introduction to practice.
Objective:
Provide an opportunity to acquire knowledge and develop skills for communication with clients and colleagues. Develop the skills to understand the situation, the problem and possible solutions; apply appropriate principles of contact to different types of personalities; recognise conflict, signs of conflict, assess the importance of conflict and apply its resolution skills. Recognise and assess professional burn-out risks, apply techniques to prevent them.

Assessment
Unaided Work:
1. To prepare for discussions in small groups on the topic of the lesson, to get acquainted with the given literature, to make observations in a professional environment. Requirements: To read literature on the topic before the lecture and class and to observe in a professional environment. Offer situations for discussion and role play. 2. Write and submit a professional development diary. Requirements: After each lesson, the student makes a brief description of the topic, noting his or her strong and developing skills in dealing with the topic being discussed, as well as key findings in dealing with clients. 3. Essay “What I learned about myself as a professional in communication classes”. Requirements: By using entries in the Professional Development Diary and literature, the student has two A4 pages. (Times New Roman, 12, no less than 680 words) writes and conveys an essay on his strong and developing skills in professional communication.

COMMUNICATION PSYCHOLOGY Evaluation criteria Cumulative assessment during the study course: Lectures with control test – 25% Active participation in classes – 25% Essay rating – 50% - Introduction to the study course at the beginning of the first lesson. The essay needs to include these topics. You can get 2 points for each topic: 0 - if the topic is not mentioned at all 1 - if the theoretical findings acquired in the lecture are summarized, research 2 - if the theoretical material is analyzed by integrating practical examples, self-analysis, self-reflection or mentioning specific examples.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Students describe the components of communication that form the basis for establishing and maintaining contact with a client, defining signs of conflict; list the main characteristics of personality types; knows the characteristics of group dynamics and the concept of leadership; describes burnout risks, signs and preventive measures.
Skills: In role plays use active listening, professionally leads the conversation with the client. Situation simulations use conflict resolution skills and are able to identify situations that cause burnout. Evaluate own resources, burnout risks and developing communication skills.
Competencies:Students differentiate communication with different client groups and personality types and justify / describe their choices; distinguishes the features of different conflict situations, uses strategies to solve them
