The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) mentorship programme is designed to provide incoming students with support in transitioning to academic life, to better integrate into the local community, and to encourage communication among students.

Participation in the mentorship programme is voluntary and is offered through mentoring, i.e. information transfer consisting of consultations, other forms of information exchange and communication, during which the advisor or mentor delivers valuable practical advice to new students (or mentees) on the RSU study process, campus, accommodation, community and other issues.

The mentor and the student mutually agree on the frequency of meetings and the form of communication.

To make sure that integration is effective, each mentor may not mentor more than three students at the same time.

A mentor’s assistance is evaluated based on feedback provided by the mentees in written form. The mentorship programme for incoming international students is coordinated by the RSU International Department.
