The annual Children’s Health Day, organised by the Latvian Association of Paediatrics will be held at Rīga Stradiņš University and the RSU Medical Education Technology Centre on 2 and 3 November. Thanks to the RSU Paediatric Student Interest Group, the event will include the International Scientific Paediatric Student Conference, to which all students interested in paediatrics are invited.

On the first day of the event, 2 November, speakers from Latvia and other countries will present lectures in the RSU Great Hall on the main conference topics: premature babies, fever, Kawasaki disease, patient safety, paediatric meningitis, and auto-inflammatory diseases. This year the program will also include a significant number of foreign lecturers from Finland, Great Britain, Ukraine and Spain.

The conference part for students will be held in conjunction with the sessions: they will have the opportunity to present clinical cases and research work. Students can choose their preferred form of participation: oral presentation, poster, or publication. Not only are students from Latvia (Rīga Stradiņš University and University of Latvia) welcome to present their work - we gladly invite colleagues from Estonia, Lithuania, and Poland.

Students are asked to sign up for participation at the International Scientific Paediatric Student Conference by submitting clinical cases and abstracts of scientific work on the official event website, ABSTRACTS section. The deadline for abstract submission is 21 October, 11:59 p.m.

On the second day of the conference, 3 November, the RSU Paediatric Student Interest Group will organise practical workshops for international students - they will provide tasks with different situations from daily hospital life. The stations will be guided by young certified doctors and resident doctors from the Children’s Clinical University Hospital, as well as members of the Paediatric and Neonatology Student Interest Groups. Furthermore, foreign students will have the opportunity to visit the Children’s Clinical University Hospital to see the daily work of the leading children's healthcare institution in the country. During the excursion, a visit to the emergency care and observation unit is scheduled, as well as the neonatal intensive care unit and intensive care unit.

The REGISTRATION section on the website provides information on the participation fee for students and healthcare professionals. Early registration is currently open and will be available until 28 October, 11:59 p.m. After that, the participation fee will increase. Late registration for an increased fee will continue up to the conference day, it will also be possible to register and pay at the conference venue in the Rīga Stradiņš University lobby. The participation fee includes entrance to the scientific program and industry exhibition, a participation certificate and coffee breaks. The conference is accredited with 10 CME. The working language of the conference is English.
