RSU tops university reputation rankings in Latvia for seventh year
For the seventh year in a row, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has been recognised as the university with the best reputation in Latvia. The data shows that RSU has maintained and continues to strengthen its leading position in terms of reputation assessment both in society as a whole and among young people. It stands out among other higher education institutions with the quality of education, the practical knowledge and skills it provides, as well as the RSU diploma being valued highly in the labour market.
‘Over the past five years, Rīga Stradiņš University has developed on an ambitious scale. The number of students, teaching staff, and researchers has increased, and the same increase can be observed in the number of high-level internationally cited publications, research projects, clinical study centres abroad, the University’s positions in international rankings, its infrastructure and many other indicators.
It is a rewarding to know that RSU’s determination is being noticed and appreciated by our prospective students, their families and Latvia as a whole,’ says RSU Rector Prof. Aigars Pētersons.
RSU scored 78 index points in the university reputation survey conducted this year, which is nine points more than in 2017 when the research company Kantar first started monitoring universities’ reputation. This rating far exceeds the average overall indicator of higher education in Latvia, which is 59 index points in the age group under 60 and 56 points among young people.
The survey was conducted in spring this year when the research company Kantar extensively surveyed more than 1,000 Latvian residents in the age group from 15 to 60 years with a target subgroup that is aged from 15 to 26 years (the sample is representative of the general population of Latvia in this age group). Kantar has monitored the overall reputation of the higher education sector since 2017.
