On 1 March, the Institute of Public Health organised a SHARE data user workshop to introduce the study to potential data users and answer questions from current and experienced researchers.

The workshop focused on the collection and structure of SHARE (Survey on Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe) data, documentation, and publication and citation requirements. The event also provided an opportunity to learn about data from other related studies, the SHARE retrospective data module, and SHARE Corona surveys. The workshop targeted not only researchers, but also lecturers and students conducting research in the fields of social sciences, health and sports sciences.

The workshop was moderated by Aija Bukova-Žideļūna, the research coordinator of SHARE Latvia, and visiting lecturer Dr Stefan Gruber (pictured). Dr Gruber is a database manager at the SHARE Berlin Institute and he shared his experience on data collection, storage and utilisation within SHARE projects. Dr Gruber has used SHARE data for his research on the long-term consequences of intra-European migration for subjective well-being.
