Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will start the 2020/2021 academic year remotely for all students on 31 August. Studies will be held remotely in September, except for placements and, as an exception, classes for first-year social sciences students. All study courses and their contents will be available digitally (on the e-studies platform and the RSU Student Portal MyRSU).

Up to 20% of lectures and classes for first-year social sciences students will be held on-site in from 31 August in conformity with the new RSU procedures regarding COVID-19.

From 5 October, however, RSU plans to switch to blended learning in all study programmes through a combination of remote and on-site classes.

On-site learning will be implemented to the extent permitted by the national  provisions for limiting the spread of Covid-19 at any given time. RSU will be carefully following government decisions and adjust the learning process accordingly.

International students, including exchange students, who arrive in Latvia from countries with a high risk of infection (those included in the list of countries compiled by the Latvian Centre for Disease Prevention and Control), may only take part in on-site studies after a 14-day period of self-isolation. Prior to arrival, international students must contact the RSU International Student Department (for international applicants and students: foreignatrsu[pnkts]lv) and the International Department (for exchange students: mobilityatrsu[pnkts]lv).

Current information for students is available on the Student Portal MyRSU. The on-site learning process at RSU will be organised following the Procedure for the implementation of precautions for the containment of the spread of Covid-19 infection at Rīga Stradiņš University.
