  • Practical skills: business planning, market analysis, product design, marketing basics, legal aspects of entrepreneurship, and more
  • Mentor support:feedback from experienced entrepreneurs and experts
  • Team and connections: the chance to find collaborators, build a team, and network with mentors and professionals

Everyone with the drive and ambition to start their own business is welcome to join the PINK programme — whether you’re a school student, university student, or not studying at all.

What matters most is your willingness to learn and take action!

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can apply to the PINK programme?

The RSU PINK programme is open to all RSU students, staff, faculty members, and researchers, as well as students from the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies and Daugavpils University – regardless of prior experience, field of study, or academic background. Registration is individual, and no pre-developed business idea is required. PINK is a free, open-access course designed to help anyone interested in entrepreneurship take their first steps – developing an idea, forming a team, and understanding core business principles.

How long is the program, and what’s the format?

PINK runs for 10 weeks. Each week features one 1.5-hour lecture or workshop. Participants are encouraged to attend in person at the B-Space (12 Vīlipa iela, Riga), but remote participation will be available for those outside Riga. The curriculum progresses from idea generation in the early weeks to business development topics later on. The program culminates with teams presenting their ideas to a jury for feedback.

What do I need to participate?

Those participating in person will be able to attend sessions at B-Space in Riga, while participants joining remotely need a computer with internet access. No prior preparation is required – just curiosity and commitment!

Can I join without a team or business idea?

No team? No problem! Registration is individual, and the programme includes team-building opportunities.
No idea? Perfectly fine too! The first weeks focus on brainstorming and testing concepts.

Does participating in PINK guarantee admission to the INK programme?

While PINK doesn’t guarantee automatic admission, it simplifies the process – participants can apply to the INK program with the ideas and teams developed during PINK.

Can I earn academic credits?

Currently RSU students do not receive credits for PINK. Students from other universities should consult their institution about receiving credit.

What support is provided?

  • Industry-led workshops on key entrepreneurship topics;
  • Mentorship tailored to your idea’s needs;
  • Ongoing assistance from the B-Space team for business or programme-related questions.

What if I miss a session?

While attendance is encouraged, missed sessions can be reviewed via video recordings. No penalties apply.

    • Developing a business model
    • Team formation & collaboration
  2. Phase 2: Development
    • Market analysis & research
    • Mentor support & consultations
    • Prototype development
    • Legal structure setup & funding acquisition
  3. Phase 3:  Pitching
    • Pitching & sales skills training
    • Final presentation to the jury on Demo Day

The INK programme invites teams of 2-5 people with a shared business idea, including at least one RSU student, employee, researcher, or alumnus.

Frequently asked questions

How does the INK programme work?

INK runs annually during the spring semester for 10 weeks. Participants attend weekly 1-1.5 hour sessions covering startup fundamentals, with assigned homework - for example, conducting market research after learning relevant methodologies. Later stages focus on team projects and mentor collaboration. The programme culminates in a Demo Day where teams pitch to a jury, with the top three ideas receiving development grants (up to 2,500 EUR).

Most sessions are held on Zoom, except practical workshops and Demo Day which take place at RSU Innovation Center (12 Vīlipa iela, Riga).

Participation Requirements

To qualify for the incubation program, teams must meet the following criteria:

  1. Apply as a pre-formed team of 2-5 members
  2. Have at least one member affiliated with RSU*
  3. Submit a unified business idea
  4. Ensure all team members are 18+ years old

If your team cannot meet certain criteria (e.g., only has 1 member), contact B-Space (bspaceatrsu[pnkts]lv) during the application period—we’ll help find a solution.

*Eligible RSU-affiliated members include: Current RSU students (including those on academic leave); RSU graduates (who have graduated within the last 3 years); RSU academic and administrative staff; Students/staff of the RSU Red Cross Medical College; Students/staff of the RSU Latvian Academy of Sport Education(LASE).

What business ideas can I apply with?

The business incubator does not support ventures in these areas: alcoholic beverages, narcotics, psychotropic or other intoxicating substances, intimate products/services, tobacco products, or gambling. All other business ideas are welcome, regardless of industry or complexity.

What documents need to be submitted?

Applicants (teams) must provide:

  • A completed application form in Latvian or English (digital format)
  • CVs of all team members
  • For students: a copy of student ID or university enrollment confirmation
For RSU graduates: a copy of RSU diploma
For RSU staff: a copy of employment certification

Documents can be submitted electronically to the email specified in the competition announcement or in person at the incubator's office within 30 calendar days of the announcement.

Are all applicants accepted?

Nē, dalība B-Space inkubācijas programmā notiek konkursa kārtībā. Tas nozīmē, ka visas komandas sākumā iesniedz pieteikumus un prezentē savas idejas žūrijas komisijai, kas tās vērtē pēc konkrētiem kritērijiem – tostarp izvērtējot inovāciju līmeni, tirgus potenciālu un komandas spējas. No pretendentiem tiek atlasītas ne vairāk kā 10 labākās idejas, kuras turpina dalību programmā. Pilnu vērtēšanas kārtību var apskatīt programmas nolikumā.

No, participation in the B-Space incubation program is competitive. All teams first submit applications and present their ideas to a jury that evaluates them based on specific criteria including innovation level, market potential, and team capabilities. A maximum of 10 top ideas are selected to continue in the program. The full evaluation procedure can be found in the programme's regulations.

Is there a participation fee?

No, both the pre-incubation and incubation programmes at B-Space are free of charge. The only resources required are your motivation and time to fullfill participation requirements and advance your idea.

Can I continue developing my student company (SMU) in the programme?

Yes, participants can continue developing their student companies within the incubation programme.

Who owns the business idea after the programme?

You retain full ownership of everything developed during the programme including the core idea, any intellectual property, prototypes, plans, and materials. If you register a company, you maintain complete control. B-Space simply serves as a "sandbox" to develop your idea and gain momentum.

I already have a business. Can I still get support?

Yes! Provided that at least one team member is affiliated with RSU (as student, graduate, or employee) and team members aren't simultaneously receiving support from other Latvian or international incubators

ScrubUp

We want to create liquid-repellent medical scrubs, because anyone who has ever worked in this field knows that bodily fluids or other types of fluids found in medical environments often end up on work clothes. Despite the garment’s ability to repel liquids, we want to maintain its ability to breathe, as well as the comfort. Our aim is therefore to coat the fabric (most likely a blend of viscose, elastane, and cotton) with a liquid-repellent technology so that it retains the functionality mentioned above. Another important factor that is often overlooked in the medical clothing market is the variety of sizes, which would also be an additional aspect that we would pay particular attention to. A wide range of sizes should be made available, as well as additional "petite" and "tall" garments that include different lengths of trousers.
